Shock Pop Comic Con 2015 Sketch Retweet Contest Rules/Info

Want a chance to win an original convention style sketch of you very own?

Here’s how my convention Sketch Retweet Contests work.
During a given convention weekend, you click “RETWEET” on any and/or all of MY sketches hashtagged for that convention weekend on my Twitter account. (Other artist sketches are not part of my Sketch Retweet Contest.)

After the convention, I use a random number generator to find a winner from all those that retweeted any/all of my convention sketches hashtagged for that weekend.

The Prize: 1 (one) 6.5″x10″ (roughly) head sketch in black and white, grayscale Copic marker, or color Copic Marker of a character of your choosing, autographed and personalized to the winner. (Sorry, no personal/creator-owned characters)

I’m at  Shock Pop Comic Con in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this weekend and I will post my retweet contest sketches with the hashtag: #SPCC2015
The contest runs Friday, Feb. 13 to Monday, Feb. 16, 2105. The winner will be announced sometime on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015.
Any retweets of any convention sketches after the winner has been announced are not valid for the sketch prize.

Remember! You DO NOT have to attend the convention to retweet sketches for a chance at the sketch prize. It is open to anyone, anywhere, with a Twitter account!
I thank you all again for your continued support and enjoyment of my work!
My Nightcrawler series for Marvel, written by legendary X-Men  writer Chris Claremont, is on stands now!

Mister Miracle for WakeUpAndDraw 2014

Mister Miracle.
My contribution to Hero Initiative and Kirby4Heroes’ #WakeUpAndDraw in celebration of Jack Kirby’s 97th birthday.

I had asked for Kirby character suggestions on Facebook and Twitter. Mister Miracle was the most requested character… As well as being a personal favorite of mine!
This piece as well as others from amazing comic pros will be up for auction later on to benefit Hero Initiative.
Stay tuned for updates!

Drawn with Pigma Micron and Copic Sketch markers.

I’ll be set up in Artist Alley, table #2132

Here are my current convention commission sketch prices/options and how it works for me during the weekend.
I will most likely be taking a sketch list instead of drawing each commission as each person waits in line. So hit my table early to make sure you get on the list, it fills up fast! I plan to do a new list for each day.

  • Head shot black and white on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $40
  • Head shot grayscale Copic markers on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $60
  • Head shot color Copic markers on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $80
  • Half figure black and white on 9″x12″ art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $100
  • Half figure grayscale Copic markers on 9″x12″ art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $140

Sketch Retweet Contest Info Nov 2013

RTiconRULES and REGULATIONS!!!
When retweeting one of my sketches during one of my convention sketch retweet contests…
JUST click the RETWEET “square arrow” button!
I’ve found some people use the older method of quote retweets or RT retweets. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find each of those individual retweets.
So from here on out, any other or older method, like quote retweets or RT retweets, will NOT be included in the running for the sketch prize.
ONLY “retweet button” clicks are eligible for the sketch prize.

The contest runs from the first day of the convention weekend to the day after the convention. Any rewteets of any sketches after the winner has been announced are not valid for the sketch prize.

I’ve been doing my Sketch Retweet Contest on my Twitter feed during my convention appearances for just over a year and a half. It’s my way of bringing a bit of that convention to you. The response to these “contests” has been great! And growing! Each batch of convention sketches gets more and more retweets. Some of you discovered my work through one of my contests.
I appreciate the support from new and long-time fans alike. Thank you for faithfully retweeting my sketches to your Twitter followers during each of my conventions. I hope y’all are having as much fun as I do during the convention weekend.

Over the past few conventions and the growing number of sketch retweets, I’m finding certain Twitter parameters makes tracking each retweet more and more challenging. So in an effort to make sure everyone continues to get a fair shot at the original sketch prize I am instituting that new rule posted at the beginning.

The “retweet button” clicks are very simple for me to find on the Twitter Trackback site I use. And with the increasing volume of retweets, I need to keep things easy, clean, and clear. I still have work deadlines to get back into after each convention! 🙂

I thank you all again for your continued support and enjoyment of my work!
I’m at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend so a new Sketch Retweet Contest starts on Saturday!
Remember! You DO NOT have to attend the convention to retweet sketches for a chance at the sketch prize. It is open to anyone, anywhere, with a Twitter account!
So keep on retweeting those sketches! (with the retweet button, please!)
