My new series, Guarding the Globe, hits the comic book shelves on Sept 5th.
I’ll be appearing at both Phat Collectibles stores in Orange County, CA that day for signings. Anaheim 11a-1p and Huntington Beach 4p-6p.
I will be drawing $30 head/bust, single character commissions. And 2 head/bust sketches will be raffled off at each store during my appearance.
I’ll also have sketchbooks, prints, and original art for sale, as well.
My wife, Dawn, just posted a page of Iron Man original art on ebay. Tony Stark prepares for the holidays!
I’m a fan of those Target 2Day Sale commercials starring that Crazy Target Lady, Christmas Champ. I drew this in honor of her.
You can see more of her commercials on Target’s YouTube. I posted one of her commercials below.
I (along with a few other great artists: Dustin Nguyen, Peter Nguyen, Ray-Anthony Height, Brian Buccelato, and Joel Gomez) participated in Comic Vine’s Mystery Art Challenge during Long Beach Comic Con this past October. Check out the video!
If you live in or will be in the Southern CA area, I’ll be featured at James Shilaimon’s studio for the Santa Ana Art Walk at the Santiago Art District on Saturday, Feb 19th. The Art Walk is from 7-10pm. I’ll be there showcasing some of my original art, comic book art, and have a couple of prints for sale (Young Justice, Spider-Man). I may have some of my sketchbooks for sale there as well.
James Shilaimon is a friend of mine and an incredible artist. He is kind enough to showcase my art in his studio. Check out his amazing work!
There are a number of different studios featuring a wide variety of artists. I look forward to seeing everyone and hanging out for the evening.
With that headline and this pic of Hal Jordan (done in COPIC and PigmaMicron markers), you’d think I was talking about DC Comics’ latest Green Lantern story arc affecting multiple corners if the DC Universe.
Actually, I am referring to the reacquisition of my “toddnauck.com” domain name. A few years ago my dot com domain name was in the process of switching hosting servers. A slight miscommunication during host transfer left my domain name out in the open and a squatter jumped on it. It had become a link hub to all kinds of anime including some stuff I wouldn’t want my younger fans to be directed to. We began the process of getting my domain back, but someone else got in there and began to squat as a real estate link hub. So we began the process again. Met with frustration and other responsibilities, I let the squatters squat.
Then recently I visited my old domain name again to see it was back to an anime link hub. So we tried contacting the registrar one more time with the the domain name laws stating that I am the real Todd Nauck and want my domain back. They responded in an appropriate manner and “BOOM!” my official page is now, once again, toddnauck.com!
For the time being I’m keeping the “redirects” active. So if you want to visit wildguard.com or toddnauck.com, you’ll still end up here where I will post art, sketches, upcoming comic book projects, and convention appearances.
My domain name nightmare is over!
Killing some time last week, I decided to try drawing Warlock from the New Mutants. I had blogged about this character last Nov in “Query: What’s Black and Yellow and Weird All Over?”.
Warlock is a fun character to draw with how malleable his form is and all the tech and details.
I inked much of this piece with brush and ink. I even cut in some white paint in certain areas. The rest was inked with PigmaMicron markers 005, 01, & 08.
